Student COVID Testing Week Two.
Student testing went well this second week. We had roughly 60% of our students test, students stepped outside their classroom on Wednesday afternoon and tested themselves in less than thirty seconds, and they were able to return to their classroom. Many other students were excited to see how easy it is. We have had a request by many of our students for additional forms. We will continue to message the importance of having as many students test as possible while respecting family decisions to not consent to the testing.
COVID Student Testing Consent Forms
For the past few days, we have been contacting all PMHS Families via phone to offer assistance with the consent forms for the start of our student and staff COVID testing program next week.
How will testing look at PMHS? A nurse and school staff will travel to each classroom, we will test those students whose parents have given consent, and students will be returned to class with very little lost instructional time. The swab itself is handed to the student, they swab the inside of their noses for 25 seconds in each nostril, and they secure the swab in a plastic bag and deposit it into a container! Simple!
