Science fair projects will begin in October and finish in January. All students will participate in the middle school science fair. Weekly deadlines will be given from the beginning of October to the end of January for all students to keep them abreast of their science fair work.
Tests and quizzes will make up 35% of the grade. Projects and classwork will be worth 20% of the total science grade. The students will keep a journal dedicated solely to their science classes, which will include daily warm-ups, notes, reflections and all textbook assignments. The journal is worth 25% of the grade. Homework is worth 20%. Extra credit is allowed as a make-up for missing homework, which may consist of a page of written reflective response to a science article or science related video.
