In the 2007-08 school year, the District budget was approximately $4,000,000. The base revenue limit funding, representing about 80% of the total district budget, generated $6,163 per student, based on an Average Daily Attendance (ADA) of 391 students). State and Federal categorical funding, which provides restricted supplemental funding for certain programs and populations, represents about 20% of the total district budget. The District had a positive budget certification by the County in 2007-08.
Revenues for capital facilities were generated by the first issuance of bonds in the amount of $3,000,000. The parcel tax revenue was approximately $210,000.
The Pescadero Education Foundation, the Pescadero Arts and Fun Festival, the Pescadero Arts Alliance, the La Honda Educational Foundation, the Vikings Boosters, the La Honda PTA and the Pescadero PTA provide money for athletics, visual and performing arts, and other enrichment programs. Local funding reflects the strong community support that characterizes LHPUSD.
